The American Library Association (ALA) has announced winners of awards for the best of the best in teen and middle grade fiction. The Newbery Medal is given to the "most distinguished contribution to American literature for children." Think of the Newbery as an award for middle school or upper elementary school books. This year, ALA awarded the Newbery to "The Graveyard Book" by Neil Gaiman. ALA gives the Printz Award to the book that best "exemplifies literary excellence in young adult literature." These books are all "young adult" or "teen" novels. This year's winner of the Printz is "Jellicoe Road" by Melina Marchetta. Check out the charts below for all the award winners and honor books, and be sure to click on any that look interesting to learn more about them in our Library Catalog.

Click the dollar amount and use the forward arrow key to reveal the question and then the answer on each individual screen. When you're done with each question, make sure you use the "Home" link in the lower right corner of each individual question screen to return directly to the main board. Inheritance Cycle Trivia

Fear not, "Inheritance Cycle" fans, we've got you covered, too! In this trivia game created right before the launch of "Brisingr," you can test your knowledge of "Eragon" and "Eldest." The same rules apply as with the Twilight Trivia. Click here or on the image directly above to play Round One. You can then move on to Round Two by clicking right here. Enjoy!
