Friends of Kinnelon Public LibraryThe Friends of the Kinnelon Public Library is a registered 501(c)(3) non- profit organization, run by volunteers who are dedicated to focusing public attention on the library in order to promote the use of its resources and services. Our primary mission is to develop the library as the educational, informational, and cultural center of the community and to raise funds for the exclusive benefit of the library and the many programs, resources and services it provides. Your support makes a difference!

History

Founded in 1979, the Friends of the Kinnelon Public Library is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to focusing public attention on the library to promote the use of its resources and services . The Friends are also instrumental in raising funds in support of the library for programs and services to supplement funding by the Borough of Kinnelon and the Kinnelon Library Board of Trustees.

The continuing goal is to establish the library as the educational, informational, and cultural center for people of all ages in the community. Our strength is in our members whose belief in the library’s importance and value has for almost thirty years generated continuing support of the library, both financially and through volunteer service.

The Kinnelon Library is the educational, informational and cultural center of our community. The Library is not only used by Kinnelon residents, but also by hundreds of non-Kinnelon residents who take advantage of and benefit from the many programs provided through the Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL) as well as Friends cultural activities and the Library’s many other services.

This year alone, more than 400 non-Kinnelon students from over 30 surrounding communities will have participated in the CLL Program. The strength of the Friends of the Kinnelon Library is in our members, whose belief in the Library’s importance prompts them to support the Library, both financially and as volunteers.

It takes money to have a Library. The financial support of the Friends and CLL is vital to ensure that the library continues to flourish and expand its resources and provide the facilities to meet the needs of the 3,900 households in Kinnelon, and to run programs like the CLL that are open to all.
